A Taste of Baja in Penticton

Tacos Del Norte

It’s great to see how the restaurant scene has taken off in Penticton (especially since I arrived!). As a foodie, I’m definitely impressed with the local cuisine I’ve tried so far. I’m pleasantly surprised at the number of new independent restaurants popping up almost every other week.
After a day at the beach, when you just feel like eating something light, fresh and fast I recommend Tacos Del Norte. They’re located where Burger 55 (featured on you “You Gotta Eat Here”) used to be. Its a tiny shop serving up some big-time flavor. There are a couple picnic benches outside for eating too. You might have seen the food food truck at the Farmers Market on Saturdays…

I tried one of each item on the menu (fish, pork, chicken and beef). Two tacos is approx $9 and you can add guacamole for extra Loonie. The quality of the ingredients to be good; my favorites were the beef and pork. My least favorite was the fish as I found it a little under seasoned.

They’ve also got three different types of homemade hot sauces to try too. All-in-all I would definitely recommmend this place if you like tacos and you like’em fast n fresh! It is a great summer spot for a quick bite!
