Happy Canada Day, eh?!
Penticton continues to impress me with the quality of events it puts on. If I haven’t said it before, Penticton has something for everyone and I can’t imagine a better place to live in the Okanagan!
Canada Day in Penticton equaled fun, sun, frankfurter buns and fireworks!!! (sorry, couldn’t make that one rhyme).
After spending the day enjoying the 30 degree weather, the family and I headed over to sample the new menu at the Barefoot Beach Restaurant and Beverage House. I’m pretty sure we ordered one of everything on the appetizer menu. My stomach was not disappointed! I personally recommend the fish tacos. Sitting on the rooftop patio and watching the sunset overlooking the lake was the perfect way to spend the evening.
As I am always up for a new experience, we decided to head down to Okanagan lake to check out the fireworks. People of all ages were spread from one end of the beach to the other. Just outside of the Barking Parrot there was a live band playing on top of one of the cruise boats. Even with lots of people, you can still find lots of prime spots to catch the fireworks and we happened to get the best spot, in my opinion, right in front of the fireworks. We could literally see them taking off from the sand. It was an amazing experience being able to lay in the grass and watch the fireworks right above your head. I also learned that the local business’ pitch in to put on the fireworks. Just another example of how great Penticton is. I definitely recommend this event to people of all ages!
